Go outside and play.

A huge shout out to anyone who played football with us the other Saturday. It was really fun. I think we should do it again sometime. But in the mean time, you shouldn’t hesitate to go outside. The weather is so fantastic right now. Every evening seems prettier than the next. Why not watch the sun go down while running around at a park, going for a bike ride, or playing hide and go seek? I am going to go outside and play right now. Only I think I am going to play golf. PEAcE

If you are ever interested in learning from the Bible, sign up for our E-B-studY. (What a lame name?) But really its good. Email jpowell@wacc.net and say you would like to be added to the list. We are in Matthew. I wouldn’t mind going through many of the books.

We are all witnesses to great moments in history. Long before many of you kids were born I witnessed a great moment in baseball history. I was at game one of the World Series in 1988 when Kirk Gibson hit a story book ending homerun to win the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. When important things happen in our life we should take a moment and look around. We should do a good job of remembering what it was like to experience the event. Well history far beyond a home run has taken place. The United States has elected its first black President. This is huge for many reasons and it is history being written before our eyes. The whole world has been watching. You too should take a look around and absorb the experience. Whatever happens in your life take a moment to appreciate it. Like take a moment to appreciate the times when you have felt God’s awesome love and presence.

I am going through Matthew right now in a bible study and if you would like to participate through email let me know.

FAD is almost over. Bummer I know, but one can only take so much yelling. Plus, I normally don’t sweat so much at TNL. All I want to know is…who is going to win FAD and go with me to Magic Mountain? I can’t wait to go on X. I believe it is the best roller coaster I have ever been on. If you say Goliath is your favorite then you are crazy. I can think of at least 10 rides that are better. Goliath is a coaster for immature riders. You may disagree but if you weren’t really too scared to try the other rides and go upside down you would see. I wonder what rides Jesus would like to go on?

My recommendation for the week: READ Matthew chpt 5 through chpt 7 at least once a day.

God loves you. I do too but not quite as much.

One night of FAD down...and it was awesome. I just forgot what team is in the lead, oh wait, it's the team I'm on. Yeah Slytherin! But all of you guys were really loud; there were crazy amounts of energy. I think this will be one of my favorite FADs.

Just reminding you guys that Paradigm is coming up on the 23rd this month. We just got the books in this week and you guys should pick em up as soon as possible. For the returning paradigm-ers, this book is about discipleship and is by the same guy who wrote "Love This!". For you guys who don't what we are all about in paradigm- we are a bible study made by you jr highers and driven by you guys. What we talk about is up to you, it is just watched over by a few staff who are willing to add some input to some topics...me especially. Come and check it out.
Can't wait to see y'all at the next FAD,

Zack

FAD, FAD, FAD. It is time for FAD and I am stoked. Having a sore throat from yelling and a ring in my ears from all the noise couldn’t be better. This year’s FAD is set to be all time great. Kajabi Can-Can, Dumbledore, and more…I can’t wait. I was just talking to another Pastor on staff (Chad) and he mentioned to me that while he was shopping in Brea he ran into someone who asked about WACC. He asked Chad how long he had worked at the church. He continued to tell Chad that he remembered coming to FAD when the church was still WABF and that it was the best thing he ever did in Jr. High. Seriously, you need to tell everyone you know to come because nothing beats it.

PEACE - God is love

so Jared came over yesterday to play me in some FIFA 08 (that is soccer for the XBOX 360 in case you didn't know). Here are the scores:
Jared (Werder Bremen) vs Zack (Rep. of Ireland National Team): 2-1 in extra time
Jared (Man U) vs Zack (Chelsea): 0-1
So that was a blast.
Don't forget about 3 P sunday this sunday. Pit, go to big church, walk to parnell Park, then Pizza...get picked up at three.
Also tomorrow, FAD work day 11 at bus barn. Come help.
Oh and just a reminder, Paradigm is this crazy awesome small group of just people who wanna learn more about God, and plus you get to hang out witt me for a little. I just ordered the books we are going through, they are by the same author of book we did last year. We meet again on Oct. 22. So...do it.
You guys are awesome,
Zack

I hope none of you are like me. I mean, I hope none of you are like me and watch a lot of TV. I grew up on Saturday morning cartoons, sitcom reruns at night, and the original 90210. I would watch TV till my mom would say to turn it off and go to bed. Then I would probably turn it back on for a little longer when I heard her go to bed. Now I still watch way too much TV. It is a horrible habit. Now as I twirl the remote changing from channel to channel I am very bothered by what I find. Very few shows are any good at all. Many have very inappropriate undertones. So I write today with a suggestion. Don’t watch so much TV. It’s not all bad, but I just think there is so many better ways to spend your time. I have wasted days of my life on the couch staring at the screen. I used to not want to miss anything that was on because if other kids talked about what they saw the night before on TV at school I wanted to be able to say I saw it too and chime in with my opinion. What a waste of valuable time as now no one cares at all about what I saw as a kid. I think the most successful people in this world watch minimal television. So I plea with you today to refrain from the sedating trance of watching the tube. Here are some suggestions of what else to do…
· READ – read anything. I recommend the Bible once in awhile too.
· Sit under a tree and look up at the sky.
· Go for a walk or a run or a skip.
· Paint or Draw. I have recently picked this up and I love it.
· PRAY – about whatever is on your mind. God loves honesty.
· Talk to your family. You might actually find them interesting.
Maybe for you the TV isn’t an issue but the computer is. Either way try something new.
Remember God loves you. Learn more about Jesus and it will change your life. There is no way it won’t.

Jr. High is back and I am excited. You should be too. Make sure you check out the JH blog spot weekly to find what is going on around the ministry. Like when Ryan Mitchell wins the ‘man of the decade’ award. No I’m just kidding he hasn’t won that award YET. But I did hear Ryan Mitchell saved a little girl's kitten that got stuck in a tree when he pulled the tree out of the ground roots and all, then lowering the kitten to the ground. Then Ryan just threw the tree into outer space so no kittens would ever be stuck in it again. I love Ryan Mitchell.
Come to Church. Check out our Staff Page. Sign up to receive email updates from the Jr. High. By clicking on the link below. Vote in the pole. If you have any pictures of you and your friends and would like them on our website send them to me. Peace out. Jesus really does love you. Stay connected to God.
